I have never been one for being stuck in a house for days on end. These cold, cloudy days make it A-okay. I can stay inside and heal in peace with a cup of tea.
Give me another week-ish, and I can get out with my new baby in my new jogger--in the cold, cloudy weather!
I am so ready for winter!

New Adventures
It's been a while since I've written...
This is mostly due to the craziness of this year--a good crazy.
In brief: I moved back to the States, am learning about life with my love, and have added a third little one to our equation: Arya. She was born October 10. I'll post pictures soon--we're still getting our formal announcement together :-) She's such a cute bundle of joy, and a little hog when it comes to feeding time, which is any time she isn't passed out. LOL
I have a second blog I started about my experience being pregnant in another country.
I'll keep this blog up for a while. I got sidetracked from that blog as well because of the end of the school year and move back to the States. I will go back and fill in details. Feel free to track that blog as well.

Words of Wisdom by Carrie Bradshaw
"Maybe some women aren't meant to be tamed. Maybe they need to run free until they find someone just as wild to run with."
Or something like that.

Lady Antebellum--Hello World
Traffic crawls, cell phone calls
Talk video screams at me
Through my tinted window I see
A little girl, rust red minivan
She's got chocolate on her face
Got little hands, and she waves at me
Ya, she smiles at me
Hello world
How've you been?
Good to see you, my old friend
Sometimes I feel cold as steel
Broken like I'm never gonna heal
I see a light, a little hope
In a little girl
Hello world
Every day I drive by
A little white church
It's got these little white crosses
Like angels in the yard
Maybe I should stop on in
Say a prayer
Maybe talk to God
Like he is here
Oh I know he is there
Ya, I know he's there
Hello world
How've you been?
Good to see you, my old friend
Sometimes I feel as cold as steel
And broken like I'm never going to heal
I see a light
A little grace, a little faith unfurled
Hello world
Sometimes I forget what living's for
And I hear my life through my front door
And I'll be there
Oh I'm home again
I see my wife, little boy, little girl
Hello world
Hello world
All the empty disappears
I remember why I'm here
Just surrender and believe
I fall down on my knees
Oh hello world
Hello world
Hello world

@ Yoda
Good luck with your quest.
I shall follow your discoveries.
Unless you think you have found your discovery.
Then I will be inclined to....smile and welcome the competition.

Glue Sucks
Really.
I had the perfect art project.
The kids were really into it.
They were quiet, listened to directions, followed directions, were excited about what they were doing.
Did their best to do a good job.
Even the ESL kids, not just my 2nd graders!!
And what happens???
The glue doesn't stick.
What happens now???
The two sides of the cardboard paper are different material...substance...whatever.
I knew it would take some holding by the kids to get the thick paper to stay in place long enough for the glue to dry.
But no such luck
Grass Green side doesn't like Shiny Green side.
At all.
On top of it, I lost my huge bottle of Elmers white glue.
Sometime between first ESL class Tuesday and second ESL class Thursday.
Teacher/kids in first class swear that it's not in their classroom. And I thought I remembered taking it out.
But nowhere on/around my office desk.
Nowhere in 2nd grade classroom.
Kids stick/slimy glue I think just doesn't hold well enough.
Made for common writing/printer/thin art paper.
Staplers it is.
But how to staple a hat together with this design?
With talent, my dear, talent.
And still, it turns into more of a bowler's hat than a leperchaun's.
Oh well, we tried.

300 most expensive cities in the world
xpatulator
fairly shocked when i looked at this listed sometime last semester
also somewhat shocked at the update for 2011
i guess they update every year, which is nice
however...even though i technically live in a 3rd world country (which watching how life is changing here, will beg to differ within the next decade), it would be cheaper to live with my older sister in memphis, tn, than here.
though not listed, guaranteed even cheaper where parents and younger sister live-as that city is considered to be the 'cheapest' big city in tn.
interesting.
now. this is for expatriates. which means they're also guessing at products the expatriate would want to purchase that would be from the home country.
so, if i'm in my home country (purchasing asian products, which are notoriously cheap in the states) would it make my cost of living even cheaper?
hm.

hot and humid
getting back to the hot weather was not as bad as i thought it'd be.
i was Loving the cold almost-snowy weather in the states (i missed all the snow everywhere i went-except for the last night i got to see some flurries lol)
dry season here hasn't been so dry, though, which is part of it--still quite breezy and fairly 'chilly' at times.
and overcast. :-)
the feel, the smell...more like...florida? (well, def. asian, but has that general fl inland city smell) stuffy like florida...dusty too
i can handle that lol

int'l licenses...
I understand that TV stations have to have special licenses in order to show their online videos in countries outside of the States. I'm sure it is harder to obtain some licenses more than others. I also am not sure as to if one int'l license insures access to all other nations, or if each nation has it's own licensing regulations. Whatever the case, I'm mostly baffled at the fact that (though, considering my current location, I guess censoring world news could be a protocol) I cannot access videos from BBC, CNN, FOX, NBC, HGTV (?? I'd assume they would have int'l license(s) since they have international shows), etc--but! I can watch shows off Comedy Central? lol I can't complain, though :-) I have always been quite fond of the Colbert Report and The Daily Show. However, what baffles me even more, now--is that, as of 3 weeks ago, I could still watch all shows on Comedy Central, but now, it seems the Colbert Report and The Daily Show are now off the list--but, I can still watch South Park. Now, my cynical side would like to thank the local gov't for still having some sense of humor. However, the greater rest of me that likes hearing what's going on in the world in a classier style of humor is incredibly sad. I say this, as, there are some things, though I am never fully sure what, that are completely out of the website owner's control.
So, Jon, Colbert. Until next time... (a.k.a. when I move next/visit a democratic country)
Oh! Oh! Quick rebuttal! Just read some comments on Comedy Central and found out that several countries (all democratic-wait, except one lol) are also having issues viewing these lifeline shows as of recently. Do they need to renew their int'l license?? Maybe the 'quirk' will get fixed soon????????
korean airlines
this is the first time i've taken ke (why it's not 'ka', i don't know) and i was incredibly pleased. they thought of everything! almost, of course--but everything from the single cup holder (so you don't have to put down your tray every time you have a drink) to the reclining chair that pushes the seat forward (not just leans the backrest back) is amazing. my only complaint was that every time they had a meal, they would wake me up to lean my chair up and then assume that i would be eating. (my last american airlines flight was the same, except it was the sweet vn boy sitting next to me that kept waking me up to eat) i would have preferred to sleep...but i have a hard time turning food away from foreigners (or look like i'm trying to be anorexic) for cultural reasons.
the best part-not only did each seat have it's own personal tv, but you could start any show/movie anytime you wanted--not wait for the next showing to begin. :-) you could also pause them as well, if you needed to get up or take a nap-so you wouldn't miss a thing. :-D
they also gave each person (in the longer leg of the flight) a pair of slippers to wear and a toothbrush&toothpaste!
definitely excited to take them again on my return flight!
