ceiling fans...

...have become baby A's muse.
You can tell her excitement from watching her stare at them.
Where she used to coo and smile at walls and pillows, she now squeals with delight at the moving fan.
:-D

Yurt vs. Cob

the current topic of discussion is about how much we like Yurts--opposed to one of my sister's preference of Cob houses.
yes.  we really talk about this.

my man and i are in love with Yurts.  in love.   Site

though they are really the hippie's trailer, they have Incredible features  (actually, they're from nomads in asia)  Site

besides being insanely cheap, yurts are structurally efficient, and green in every sense of the term (well, almost-they make me smile, not sick)  (and i do get jealous of other owners when i see them lol)  Site

there are also a million different options of extras to add on to your Yurt, to make it your own, individual abode.  Site
I like this 'bedroom'.  Site
This is a link to one manufacturer of Yurts.

my sister is more keen on Cob houses.
the great thing about Cobs is that they have all the amazing features as Yurts--especially in the using renewable products area.  Site
And they are even way cheaper than Yurts!!!  Site
their downfall (for some people--like my man!) is that they look like little fairy tale cottages.
personally, my sis and i think they are the cutest things--we just have a hard time convincing our guys about this :-)   Site

we would each love to buy a plot of land and build our Yurts and Cobs.
the one drawback to both Yurts and Cobs is that they're relatively small, so, really, you need to build more than one (think of your own personal villa---a villa of Cobs could remind you of smurfville lolol)

Which would you live in?

If I have heard this song (version) before this Christmas season, I do not remember...
but it is currently my fave holiday song!

i'm sure there is though :-)

Just In...

Knock, knock

Me: 'Hi'
College Guy: 'Are your mom or dad at home?'
Me: 'Excuse me?'
College Guy: 'Are your mom or dad at home?'
Me: 'Well, this is my sister's house...'
College Guy: 'Are you old enough to vote?'

...blink, blink...

Me: 'Yes'

--spiel--

and then...

College Guy: 'You must be friendly and non-dangerous.  Are you friendly and non-dangerous?'
Me: 'Most of the time.'  (as my 2yr old niece is poking her head around my legs to see)

I'm sure these must have been protocol questions LOL, but wow.
I knew I looked young (i'm guessing high school age? ...)...and dangerous :-D

Being 10+ years out of high school, I'll take it as a complement...and entertainment.
